Abstract: Conventional chem - biological process was not suitable for treating high concentration
wastewater in sorbitol and mannitol industry, as a institute, the anaerobic- aerobic biological process by
combining UASB w ith SBR was applied in the treatment forwastewater in these industries. A good result
was indicated that SS, CODCrand BOD5removal rate were respectively obtained at 62. 0%, 94. 5% and
97. 5% only by costing 0. 85 RMB per ton of wastewater.
